During this treacherous winter day, White Plains Police Officer Ahmed Danso-Faried observed an elderly resident having trouble walking up a slippery hill.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Danso-Faried stopped his patrol car and assists the resident into their apartment building.

Most area residents were having trouble navigating the snow, sleet, slush and freezing rain -- prompting many schools to close or dismiss students early.
